Flytrap

Flytrap follows Sara (24) in a women’s psychiatric ward in Cairo, where she is emotionally withdrawn and determined to maintain control. Around her, women from different backgrounds navigate confinement through humor, faith, fantasy, denial and rebellion. As the ward’s repetitive routines, constant surveillance and shared spaces make isolation impossible, moments of friction, absurdity and unexpected companionship gradually pull Sara into a fragile connection with the women around her.
