As far as his cat Francis is concerned, Gustav - who writes cheap romantic novels - is not exactly the most intelligent of humans. Just listen to the baby-talk he uses to communicate with his cats. He can’t be any smarter than any of the other cat owners; otherwise why would he have listened to his supposedly best friend Archie and moved into this dilapidated apartment? Francis hates moving to a new home because it invariably means running afoul of the cats who have already staked out the territory.
