Steve Walker, a promising architect on his way up the corporate ladder, is just settling with his new wife Laura and stepson Toby, when his teenage daughter Nicole comes to live with them. A new family getting to know each other, the Walkers have their problems; there's tension between Laura and Nicole, and Steve is having a tough time letting off "daddy's little girl"- especially when he finds out she broke her curfew by staying out late with David. In a attempt to patch things up, Steve invites David to the house and is shocked to see that he is not the young boy he had expected, but an adult man. His uneasiness turns to anger as he watches David charm not only his daughter, but his wife as well. Steve looks into David's background and discovers he's not who he says he is. Armed with the truth, he confronts David, warning him to stay away from Nicole.
