Since 1952, at the age of 19, Brakhage has created over 300 films, each with a running time of several seconds to several hours, constantly and consistently redefining the shape of film art. This film explores the film-maker’s genius, his magic personal charm, and the influence his work has had on generations of other creators. While touching on significant moments in Brakhage’s biography, the film explores the extraordinary artistic possibilities of cinema, a medium mostly known for its commercial applications.
