Six people are about to begin an expedition. They want to cross Holland from north to south on foot - in search of the mountains. On the day that they are due to begin, everything goes wrong. Vincent and his wife, Helen, cannot join the ethers until a few days later. This is enough tor 18-year-old JP, who is a great admirer of Vincent, to decide not to go at all.
