Grga Pittich and Zaria are friends from way back, from their first robbery together to their last jail break. Now both in their eighties and in failing health, Pittich is the gypsy godfather and Zaria a successful businessman. Pittich’s biggest concern in life is that his grandson Grga Majr should find a suitable wife. Zaria’s son Matko borrows money from Pittish to secure a black market deal with the gangster Dadan, but Matko is ripped off. Dadan’s retribution is to inist that Matko marries his diminutive sister, Ladybird, in spite of her reluctance. But on the day of the wedding Ladybird escapes, only to run headlong into Grga Major, with whom true romance might just have a change to blossom...
