This film received, in its 60 years of existence, 3 musical scores: by Edmund Meisel, by Nicolaj Krioukov and, more recently, Dmitri Shostakovich. All underline the revolutionary and pathetic quality of Eisenstein's language, and not without effect. We, however, tried to realize a contemporary soundtrack, performed directly during screening, which aims at confronting with the film, without submitting the music to the image. Thus, the orchestra, respecting the pre-established editing of the film and staying close to the image, keeps at a distance. (La Marmite Infernale}
