Badkonake Sefid (The White Balloon)

The first day of spring, March 21st, is New Year's Day in Iran. Razieh, a young girl of seven, dreams of a big gold fish for the ceremonies, which is traditional. With the help of her brother, she succeeds in convincing her mother to give her her last banknote and rushes out of the house to buy the fish.
