On the 12th of October 2003, the international film music scene gathers in Ghent for the 3rd edition of the World Soundtrack Awards, the prestigious film music prizes of Film Fest Gent.
During the 30th anniversary edition of Film Festival Gent, the WSA Ceremony & Concert shines bright as the festival's musical highlight. We are delighted to welcome the internationally acclaimed composer Patrick Doyle, who will share the stage with the Belgian electronic band Hooverphonic, and Klaus Badelt, the WSA Discovery of 2002. Doyle, the WSA Soundtrack Composer of the Year in both 2001 and 2002, will perform some of his best-known film scores, including those from Carlito’s Way and Sense & Sensibility. Another highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the World Soundtrack Lifetime Achievement Award to Maurice Jarre, a three-time Oscar winner who is well known for his music for films such as Dr Zhivago and Lawrence of Arabia.
