Film Fest Gent goes Kidsproof! With a selection of magical, educational, and heartwarming film screenings, the festival caters to the youngest film fans and their families every year. On Kidsproof Sunday, four family-friendly films will be screened, and the youngest moviegoers can head to the Film Fest Café for creative activities inspired by the films.

Follow the ‘Kidsproof’ tag throughout the program to experience the adventures of Mumbo the hippo, learn how to be one hundred percent yourself with Gugu, and discover that the world upside down isn't so bad after all in Iron Boy. The cast and crew will also be present at the afternoon screening of the Belgian film Tegenwoordig heet iedereen Sorry (Everyone's Sorry Nowadays) during Kidsproof Sunday. All films will be spoken or subtitled in Dutch.

Kidsproof Sunday

Sunday 11 October marks the annual Kidsproof Sunday, a day dedicated entirely to Kidsproof films. In addition to film screenings, the whole family is welcome at the Film Fest Café for snacks, drinks, and creative activities and installations organized in collaboration with the youth film organization JEF. Registration for the activities will open at a later date. Furthermore, the afternoon screening of Tegenwoordig heet iedereen Sorry (Everyone's Sorry Nowadays) will be attended by director Frederike Migom, Bart Moeyaert (author of the book of the same name), and the cast, who will discuss the film. Voice actors Jolien Roets and Ini Massez will also be present at the screening of their film Mumbo.

Dag van de Leerkracht

Film Fest Gent is once again hosting Dag van de Leerkracht (Teachers' Day) to highlight the educational value of film. On the afternoon of Wednesday 14 October the film Tegenwoordig heet iedereen Sorry (Everyone's Sorry Nowadays) will be screened in the presence of director Frederike Migom and author Bart Moeyaert, who will discuss the film's creation and the themes explored in the story. In this way, the festival provides teachers with practical tools to work with film and media in the classroom afterwards.
