Finalists announced for the Film Music Composition Contest 2025

Film Fest Gent has revealed the three finalists of the 2025 WSA Film Music Composition Contest: Neville Bharucha (India/Germany), Théo Cascio (France) and Bongseop Kim (South Korea) have been selected for their original symphonic scores for a dramatic excerpt from David Lynch’s acclaimed film The Elephant Man (1980). The winner of the World Soundtrack Award for Best Original Composition by a Young Composer Powered by Vienna Synchron Stage will be announced during the World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert on 15 October 2025.

Theresa Russell to be Jury President at 52nd Film Fest Gent amid tribute to Nicolas Roeg

American actress Theresa Russell will serve as Jury President of the International Jury at the 52nd edition of Film Fest Gent, which will take place from 8 to 19 October. During the 80s and 90s, Russell was a prominent figure who competed with the biggest Hollywood actresses. Today, she is mostly celebrated for her complex and vulnerable roles in the films of British director Nicolas Roeg, to whom FFG is dedicating this year’s Classics programme.
