Stephanie Economou, Borislav Slavov en Eiko Ishibashi headline WSA Film Music Days 13 Sep 2023

Scoring for video games is an aspect of composing for screen that is crucial to this year’s WSA Film Music Days from 19 until 21 October. Stephanie Economou (Assassin's Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarök) and Borislav Slavov (Baldur’s Gate 3) have extensive experience as game composers, and will be sharing their expertise. They will be accompanied by other composers such as Gordy Haab & Stephen Barton (Star Wars Jedi: Survivor) and Austin Wintory (Journey). Japanese multi-instrumentalist and composer Eiko Ishibashi will be joined on stage by frequent collaborator director Ryûsuke Hamaguchi to talk about their Creative Partnership.

Film Fest Gent & S.M.A.K. put time on hold with Tsai Ming-liang's Walker series 04 Sep 2024

During the 51st edition of Film Fest Gent - and long after, until 9 March 2025 - the film festival and S.M.A.K. together present the work of celebrated Malaysian-Taiwanese filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang with the screening of the full Walker series which includes ten films made by the director between 2012 and 2024. The tenth and perhaps final film, Abiding Nowhere, will have its Belgian premiere at FFG.

Jerskin Fendrix, Natalie Holt and Brandon Boone among winners at 24th World Soundtrack Awards 16 Oct 2024

With his scores for Poor Things and Kinds of Kindness, Jerskin Fendrix did what no one ever did before him: winning both the Discovery and Film Composer of the Year Award. In the category Television Composer of the Year, Natalie Holt won the prestigious award with her score for Loki S.02, after two previous nominations. Following their win in 2022, Finneas O'Connell and Billie Eilish take home the award for Best Original Song with their Barbie song “What Was I Made For?”.
