VIDEODROOM 2026 - 'The Evil Dead' x BL!NDMAN
The Evil Dead
In Sam Raimi’s legendary low-budget debut, five students head to an abandoned cabin in the woods. When they play a dusty tape recording, they unwittingly unleash demonic forces that transform them into bloodthirsty zombies. What follows is a frenzied symphony of rattling chainsaws, rampaging bushes and plenty of gore and blood. The inventive special effects, over-the-top gore and pitch-black humour made the film a global sensation.
Raimi, then aged 20, filmed this horror masterpiece with a handful of friends and a budget of $375,000. Thanks to a wildly successful VHS release, the film became a multi-million-dollar hit. It launched a massive franchise, turned lead actor Bruce Campbell into a cult icon and kick-started Raimi’s impressive directing career (Spiderman, Army of Darkness).
The Soundtrack
Following their acclaimed soundtrack for Donnie Darko, BL!NDMAN returns to Videodroom. This time, they will breathe new life into Joe LoDuca’s original score for The Evil Dead with a live performance. LoDuca is a two-time Emmy winner and a master of compelling orchestral music. His versatile career includes iconic soundtracks for cult classics such as Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead trilogy and the hit series Xena: Warrior Princess, Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and Spartacus. He also made a name for himself internationally with his music for the French films Brotherhood of the Wolf (nominated for a César) and Saint Ange.
As a contemporary music collective, BL!NDMAN has been at the international forefront for over 35 years. Since its founding in 1988 by Eric Sleichim, the ensemble has been driven by originality, experimentation and an unbridled passion for sound. What began as an unconventional saxophone quartet that pushed the boundaries of the instrument has evolved into a rebellious and skilful musical research lab.
