SCRIPT CIRCLE WORKSHOP
News 29 Aug 2025
From 11 until 13 October, deAuteurs and Film Fest Gent are hosting Script Circle, an intensive workshop on creative script development for screenwriters, directors, and producers. More information and the registration link can be found in this newsletter.

About the workshop

Script Circle is an interdisciplinary script and talent development program led by script consultants Franz Rodenkirchen and Françoise von Roy (Solace23). Over the course of a three-day workshop, eight participants (screenwriters, directors, and producers) work on four selected projects in an intensive and supportive setting.

The projects are discussed in depth as a group. Filmmakers and producers are given space to look at scripts creatively, provide peer-to-peer feedback, and test their work in a safe, stimulating environment. Screenwriters receive extensive feedback, while producers are invited to approach scripts from a purely creative perspective.

In addition, Franz and Françoise address broader topics such as genre, character development, and how to shape visual narratives beyond the clichés of classical screenwriting. The workshop concludes with a joint wrap-up session.

Who can apply?

  • Screenwriters, directors, and producers based in Belgium
  • Teams of up to 2 people can apply per project
  • Depending on the number of selected project participants, there may also be room for a few participants without a project
  • Both emerging and experienced filmmakers and producers are welcome
  • All participants are expected to prepare by reading the other selected projects
  • Maximum of 8 participants and 4 projects in total

The application deadline is 10 September.
