Brussels Philharmonic will bring the best symphonic scores from iconic horror films such as 'Dracula', 'Bride of Frankenstein' and 'Psycho' back to life under the guidance of Dirk Brossé.

More than any genre, horror always knows how to innovate and to produce classics for every generation. The once-reprehensible genre that used to flourish in the margins of recognized film genres has now finally become mainstream. All the more reason to draw attention to the crucial contribution of the composer to the artistic and commercial success of the horror film.

During the 'Hollywood Nightmares' concert we will pay tribute to the trends, the archetypes (Frankenstein, Dracula, King Kong, Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde) and the subgenres of the horror film in which leeches, zombies, serial killers, devil worshipers and ghosts make their appearance.

Hear how the greatest composers of their time - from Franz Waxman to Bernard Herrmann, from Ennio Morricone to James Newton Howard - give us shivers and discover the darkly romantic and even lyrical side of the genre.
