Mo 12.10.15 20.00h - 'The Walk'
Robert Zemeckis’ forthcoming thriller ‘The Walk’, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Philippe Petit, the charismatic high-wire artist who unforgettably traversed the Twin Towers in 1974, will pre-open the 42nd Film Fest Gent (FFGent). In addition to 'The Walk' FFGent will also hold a ‘Back to the Future’ marathon in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Zemeckis’ famous trilogy. Finally the festival will close with the 15th World Soundtrack Awards, including the concert premiere of the film music of 'The Walk' in the presence of its central guest and composer Alan Silvestri.

We 14.10.15 20.30h - Nozinja / Hiele
Nozinja's Shangaan electro will be joined by new visuals from video/internet artist La Turbo Avedon, that also directed his most recent video clip Baby Do U Feel Me. Hiele, the Antwerpian prodigy, will open for Nozinja with a show also designed especially for this evening.

We 21.10.15 20.30h - Jerusalem In My Heart / Tashi Dorji
Jerusalem In My Heart (JIMH) is a project of contemporary Arabic and electronic music interwoven with 16mm film projections and light-based (de)constructions of space, exploring a relationship between music, visuals, projections and audience. Jerusalem in my heart aka Radwan Moumneh has worked with Suuns, Cursed and A Silver Mt. Zion in the legendary Hotel2Tango studio’s in Montréal. Ben Chasny (Six Organs of Admittance) was the one to put guitarplayer Tashi Dorji in the spotlights for the first time.

Thu 22.10.15 09.30h - British Film Music Seminar
Film Fest Gent annualy organises the Film Music Seminar in collaboration with the University College Gent, School of Arts and curated by dr. Martine Huvenne. Year after year, famous and important professionals of the film music industry teach participants about film music or sound design.
This year's edition of the Film Music & Sound Seminar will focus on 'British Film Music' and will take place on Thursday 22 October 2015 from 9:30 to 16:00.
The first part of the seminar will be a conversation with composer George Fenton, focussing on his longlasting collaboration with director Ken Loach, among other directors. During the second part British composers Daniel Pemberton and Craig Armstrong will be invited for a debate concerning the difference between collaborations for British and North American productions. Dr. Martine Huvenne will be leading the debate.

Thu 22.10.15 19.00h - Black Flower: Film + Concert
'Love, Theft and Other Entanglements - the debut feature of the young Palestinian director Muayad Alayan - is a political drama, black comedy and suspenseful thriller all rolled into one. Saxophonist and composer Nathan Daems made the beautiful soundtrack accompanied by his phenomenal ethio-jazz ensemble Black Flower. Daems played all the instruments - keys, electric guitar and a collection of Arab and Ethiopian whistles - live in the studio.

Following its focus on British cinema, Fest Gent will also celebrate the rich tradition of British film music by organising the concert Great British Film Music at the Bijloke, that will provide an anthology of the work of both classical and contemporary film composers, whom have made a remarkable contribution to the image and success of British cinema.

Film Fest Gent focuses on elaborating and professionalising its film music industry activities. By organising the WSA Industry Day on Friday 23 October 2015, the festival unites both young composers and filmmakers and film music industry professionals. They get the opportunity to learn, debate and network.

Sa 24.10.15 13.00h - Q&A + Meet & Greet WSAwards
On Saturday 24 October you will have the opportunity to meet with some important members of the film music industry and performing artists from the World Soundtrack Awards.
Artistic Director Patrick Duynslaegher and music director Dirk Brossé will have a discussion with WSAwards' central guest Alan Silvestri, Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Patrick Doyle and Discovery of 2014 Daniel Pemberton.
After the debate there will be the opportunity to have a more private moment with these and other present composers.

Sa 24.10.15 20.00h - 15th World Soundtrack Awards & Ceremony
Held on October 24th, the World Soundtrack Awards will celebrate its 15th anniversary with one of the most brilliant film composers of his generation, known for his scores of 'Back to the Future', 'Who Framed Roger Rabbit' and 'Forrest Gump'. Brussels Philharmonic and The Flemish Radio Choir will perform the compelling scores by Alan Silvestri, Lifetime Achievement Award Winner Patrick Doyle and Discovery of 2014 Daniel Pemberton, conducted by Dirk Brossé and accompanied by film fragments on the big screen.
