Director: Ayaz Salayev Composer: Nazim Mirishly With: Mariya Lipkina, Rasim Balayev, Tolib Khamidov
"My film is about death: death as a film subject, death via film and the death of film. The heroine dies in a movie house. She dies because of her love of the cinema. She watches the screen absent-mindedly, as does her blind killer, whose blindness also results from his love of the cinema. The blind man shoots in the direction of the sound, of her despairing cry. The main characters in the film are attracted to each other, which brings them inexorably toward death. He is an older man, an academic arts specialist. She, in turn, loves the intellect. The fate of my protagonists is just as tragic as the attempt to unite art and life." Aya Salayev
