Wang chung ching-shih (Spring Swalow)

I wrote the script for Spring Swallow twenty years ago while I was still a student of films. Later, when I began to work in the industry as a director I tried many times to persuade film companies to produce the story, and failed. Last year, after an absence from the industry for 7 years, I was to direct again. Without hesitation, I chose Spring Swallow. Now, watching the film on screen, I know it is a different story than if it were made twenty years ago. lf a person's life can be divided up in sections, this must be a new beginning. (Richard Chen)
