Sidney Stratton is an eccentric inventor, believed to be crazy by most everyone. Stratton is allowed access to Alan Birnley's elaborate development laboratory, supplied with all the
equipment he requires. Stratton bars all other employees except one aide, although Birnley and
others can't help but peek inside to see where their considerable investment is going.
Meanwhile, Birnley s daughter Daphne, vaguely in love with the obsessed Guinness, constantly
allays her father's fears and remains supportive of Sidney while fending off her stuffy fiance.
Finally Stratton comes through, creating a miracle fabric of pristine white. It cannot be
destroyed. It will not tear and resists all stains. (CineBooks' Motion Picture Guide)
