A Finnish heroic epic about the winter war. In November 1939, Soviet troops march on East Finland. Stalin made use of Germany's invasion of Poland to acquire strategically important areas of Finland or the USSR. Estonla, Lithuania and Latvia were already occupied. The Soviet army was powerful, but the Finnish managed to defend itself against the massive deployment of artillery, air force and infantry. This film tells the story from the point of view of the Finnish soldiers at the front, their fear and their struggle against cold and hunger.
