Diamond Thief Franky Four Fingers is set up by a Russian, Boris The Blade, and loses a fist-sized diamond to two small-time pawnbrokers. They subsequently cross paths with two illegal boxing promoters who are in deep shit with pig-farming hardman Bricktop, after their Gypsy fighter Mickey fails to ‘go down in the fourth’. Then it gets complicated. Guy Ritchie has followed the success of ‘Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels’ with an equally stunning and ambitious return just as Quentin Tarantino did with ‘Pulp Fiction’ (1994). The characters are so colourful they jump right off the screen; together with the snappy dialogue, this makes ‘Snatch’ a must-see!
