This story is truly bizarre. In the thirties, Stalin approved an experiment with sex-change operations: "If Motherland needs soldiers, we'll make soldiers. If Motherland needs mothers, we’ll make mothers”. And so, Yevdokia Kuznetsova became Yevdokim Kumetsov. Turned into an “ordinary man" his adventure was far from over. Those who actually done the operations were finally condemned and killed, but their victims were forgotten. Yevdokim begins a new life from nothing. He becomes famous for building the metro, a member of the Supreme Soviet, and soon marries and adopts a child. Then, love raises its ambiguous head…
