By now Valerka, the hero of Freeze,
Die, Come to Life, has grown up and left childhood behind. Expelled from his school, realizing that he has in part ruined his mother's life, Valerka goes north and heads for the mouth of the
river Love. This trip will lead him to Nikolaïevsk-on-Love, where he hopes to find an aunt he has never met... and where he begins to confront the responsible world of grown-ups. Valerka takes a new look at his lifè, the lies and betrayals that had marked him. In making the final break from childhood and adolescence, he takes the first step toward becoming an adult.
