Pongo, a beautiful Dalmatian, decides that his “pet” as he calls Roger, a songwriter, is spending too much time with his work and needs a mate – and so, incidentally, does he. When he gazes out of the window he sees a cute female Dalmatian walked by an equally lovely girl, and when they meet, it’s love at first sight for all of them. Roger marries Anita, and Perdita, the female dog comes to live with them. When Perdita is about to give birth, a school friend of Anita, Cruella De Vil shows up, insisting that she must have the puppies. Roger stands firm and refuses, but two crooks force their way into the house and steal all fifteen puppies. The police are unable to find any clues, but with the help of Pongo’s friends, they find the puppies in the long-deserted De Vil mansion, along with a passel of other young Dalmatians. There are ninety-nine in all, and they are stored there up by Cruella to make herself a magnificent fur coat! (Leonard Maltin, The Disney Films)
