LATE ENTRY
After successfully completing yet another assignment, police negotiator Danny Roman (Samuel L. Jackson) is celebrated by colleagues and the press alike. That evening, his partner tells him he has evidence of fraud within the police department. When he later arrives at their agreed meeting place at the appointed time, Danny's partner turns out to have been murdered. The acclaimed officer is promptly accused of the killing. He makes his way to Internal Affairs and demands the full truth from their chief, Terence Niebaum (J.T. Walsh). The conversation gets out of hand and Danny takes Niebaum and the three others present hostage. Knowing better than anyone how the police handle such situations, he requests the help of an outsider: another negotiator, Chris Sabian (Kevin Spacey)...
