"Michael Blanco" is a film about the odyssey of a novice Belgian actor named Michael Blanco who comes to Los Angeles to become a professional actor - perhaps even a `movie star' in today's Hollywood. Belgian transplant Michael Blanco didn’t just move to Hollywood to act — he’s burdened with movie star ambitions to become his country’s successor to Jean Claude Van Damme. Problem is, Michael’s short of stature, hair, and talent, with an accent that turns his monologues into mumbles. Writer/director Stephan Streker’s muted and mesmerizing film stands apart from the Hollywood pack, revamping the streets of LA with an alien, dusty glamour that sustains Michael as he shuttles between failed auditions and menial jobs, never giving up his dreams of superstardom.
