Mi querido Tom Mix

60-year-old Joaquina Jives with her nephew and his wife in a small town in 1930s Mexico, escaping when she can, to the local cinema to watch Tom Mix films. Her obsession goes so deep that she writes letters to her hero... The arrival of Pancho and his marauding bandits destroys the peace of the village... Help arrives in the form of Domingo, an old cowboy who works as the local projectionist. Transformed into the dashing Tom Mix, he rescues Joaquina from the bandits. (Screen International 17/1/92)
