Måker (Maker)

This is a family drama that takes place in the Norwegian archipelago around the turn of the century. The main characters are two sisters. Their father, the shipowner, has gone bankrupt and the family's circumstances are drastically impaired. The girls' safe world crumbles but the dreams are alive. The elder sister. recites Chekhov's 'The Seagull' and wants to be an actress, far from this place where real gulls are screaming. The younger sister plays the violin accompanied by the roar of the sea.
