London

Edition 1994
85' - 1994 - Documentary - Dialogue: English
Director: Patrick Keiller With: Paul Scofield, John Major, Norma Major
This new portrait of London is shot over a period of twelve months which saw the re-election of John Major as Prime Minister, the renewed IRA bombing campaign, the ERM crisis and the "Fall of the House of Windsor". It combines documentary footage with the diary of its fictional narrator. For those who live there, London is obscure; too large to know, too thinly spread and private. lts social life, when it matters, is invisible -carried out in private houses and clubs to which one must be invited or otherwise gain admission.
