On the morning of her thirty-fifth birthday, Lucie is jolted awake by ber biological clock. That evening, she tells her girlfriends she's decided to have a baby. Of course, a father has to be found. Prompted by her friends' scepticism, Lucie bets she can land the ideal man in three short months. Candidates are found and the “auditions” begin: Albert, a pedantic intellectual who prefers nubile nymphs to mature women; Frank, an athletic Adonis who wants to sire enough children to field a family hockey team; Bob, a “sensitive” feminist; Gilbert, an attractive lawyer - and inveterate seducer; Pierre, a Yuppie gynaecologist - who seems to be the perfect candidate; and George, Lucie's comforting ex-boyfriend.
