Sandrine dreams of becoming a singer. In the meantime she works as a salesgirl and lives in a seedy hotel. She meets Gérald, the farmer boyfriend of her brother, who left him to travel the world in search of a new life. Gérald decides to take Sandrine under his wing and convinces her to move in with him. He sets up sexual assignations for her, brings her to the clients and then waits for her until she's finished. With each encounter Gérald becomes more curious; his questioning of her gets more protracted. Unsatisfied, one day Gérald decides to attend one of the rendez-vous himself.
