Le Collier perdu de la colombe (The Dove's lost necklace)

A beautiful house is the setting for the pupil Hassan to be taught the art of calligraphy by a master. The garden of that house is filled with the mixed sounds of rushing water, of the raised voice of the teacher and the boy's laughter. The lives of the two friends Hassan and Aziz converge in the search for the lost pages of a manuscript destroyed in a fire, which apparently contain the secrets of love. A dangerous journey ensues. The events in a derelict village, the flight through swampland make the two friends inseparable. The country is ravaged by war and struggles between false prophets...
