The Shadow of the Caudillo has been banned for thirty years and rightly deserves its reputation as 'film maudlt' of Mexican cinema. The film was banned because of its political content, still a hot item in 1960, because it depicted the manipulations and treason of some of the military, who immediately after the revolution, fought to gain power.
