Jacques is afflicted with an incurable disease. Il saps his strength and immobilize him. He knows the end is near. Bul he does not give in. lnstead, he decides to do something. He tells his story, on video. He tells the story of his generation, people who were 20 in 1868 and wanted to change the world. He tells the story of his loves, and of the Montreal neighborhoods that nurtured them. He gets into the story telling. And he films everything: his conversations with his father, his mother, his friend Pierriette and his old flame, Monique. His friendship with Denis, who helps him make the film.
