Innisfree

John Ford finds the lost home that he only knows through precious family memories: ruins of the humble cottage that his father was forced to leave, just like many other neighbours in the valley, threatened by "the great hunger" and the force of the British. The desire to salvage this house is illustrated in 1951 with the shooting of the film The Quiet Man with John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. lnnisfree is the village where the film takes place. lt is also the title of a film which wishes to tel! the story of this small community in the west of lreland.
