PIECES D’IDENTITES
Mani Kongo is an old Congolese king. He sends his daughter Mwana to study in Belgium while she is still very young. Twenty years later, he has no word from her so he goes to Belgium to look for her. His stay there is no picnic; he runs into some surprising characters such as Chaka Jo, the fake taxi driver; and Jefke, an ex-colonial administrator who is now a police commissioner in the African quarter of Brussels; or Viva Wa Viva a young “show-off” or the young Noubia. Will the journey back to Africa of all these characters - whose identities have broken in several pieces - allow them to be at peace with themselves? This film is dedicated to the African diaspora.
