Every year, the Heylen family gathers to commemorate their mother's death. This year's reunion takes place in the vicarage where Natalie Heylen is the Deedee's -the priest's -housekeeper. Originally, the meeting goes off rather wel!. They attend mass, visit the grave-yard and sit down for a mea!. The only spanner in the works is Claude, a hyper nervous young man who has just been dismissed from an institution. His relationship with the priest, though based on affection, manifests itself in agressive flashes. Due to the excessive food and drink, the latent grudges and disagreements come to the surface. Playing charades after dinner degenerates into a series of absurd, comical and bitter scenes resulting in a chaotic outburst of feelings. Claude, the only one in search for purity, tragically pays the bill.
