Samuel Fuller in triple capacity of producer-writer-director has devised a solid piece of entertainment which has femme star Barbara Stanwyck playing Jessica Drummond, a ruthless Arizona ranch owner, the boss of Cochise County. Into her realm ride Griff Bonnell (Barry Sullivan) and his two brothers, the former an ex-gun slinger now working for the US Attorney General, his fame with a gun preceding him. He's in Tombstone on official business, which means conflict with Jessica, who rules her domain, including the sheriff, with an iron hand.
