Executed in the style of an Italian folktale, this romantic comedy is set in an ancient and ageless village and follows a local restaurateur as he struggles to insure that his ailing wife will be buried in the local cemetery beside their late daughter. The trouble is that the cemetery operates on a first come first serve basis and there are only three plots left. Complicating matters is the fact that the restaurant owner is not sure exactly when his wife is going to expire. To insure that she gets into the desired plot, the devoted husband launches a frantic campaign to see that the other near-death patients in the local hospital stay alive.
