The film tells the story of Ernst, a young man in his thirties, who lost his memory because of an accident. Once again, he gets acquainted with his parents and friends. His parents have never known how to cope with Ernst and see this situation as a new chance to bring him up as a perfect son. They call in the help of a psychiatrist and a priest. They try as well to pair him off to the ideal daughter-in-law.
