Following a tragic accident, a number of people lose their principal gift. Hiding behind the mysterious name “Ellektra”, a young girl brings those people together and offers them solace for their loss. Sam, former journalist and ex-junkie, is to find the girl Ellen and bring her back to her father Aimé. Ellen refuses to go back to her criminal dad. Sam takes Ellen, who reminds him of her deceased daughter, under her protection. But in the confrontation with Ellen’s father, Sam has no other option than to make a final sacrifice. Beside the main plot, a number of characters is introduced: pianist Anna, dj cosmonaut X, perfumer Harry, pilot-to-be Ludovic, stripper Cynthia, hussler Cabron. At first they seem to have little in common. Until a catastrophy hits them individually at the same time and they accidently get in contact with Ellen through sms messages from ‘eLLektra’.Reminiscing other episodic film noirs like “Amores Perros”, “Magnolia” and “Requiem for A Dream”, inspired by poetic nightmares à la Lynch, offbeat Almodovar characters, and Jeunet’s tragicomic romanticism, the surreal world of “Ellektra” opens up.
