After her English-language Beltenebros, Pilar Miro further explores the intimate themes that informed her earlier movies. The film concerns Carmen, a successful woman in her 40s who embarks on a soul-searching journey after a series of painful and humiliating experiences. Her search takes her to her ex-husband, her parents and finally toa remote village on the Almeria coast. However, the life of peaceful solitude that she makes for herself is shattered when her daughter-in-law arrives with baby in tow.
