This film is divided into four episodes and tells the story of “ordinary” people spending a Sunday afternoon in the old part of Mexico City. At the film’s centre are three people: Rutilio who owns a bar where men from the neighbourhood meet. On this day he is surprised by his own homosexual desires which cause a catastrophe in his family; Alma a young girl in love with Abel, a hairdresser who leaves her to go to the USA to earn money for their wedding; and Susanita a typical “old maid” who dreams of meeting the right man. The last episode brings these people together…
