Catherine is an athlete who runs for the pure pleasure of it. Honour and glory are of little importance to her. She gives all her heart and soul to her sport and to Olivier, a sports journalist, with whom she shares her life. One day, this passion blinds her to the consequences when the "unfairness" of an injury, a few weeks before an important competition. Catherine accepts what she has always refused: a drug relieves the pain and allows her to continue running. The word "drugs" is forgotten when succes arrives: Catherine is the 800 metres champion of France. Now she's aiming at the European Championship and the Olympic Games.
