At a time where overtly homosexual art is still able to stir up a storm amongst the moral minority, the artwork of Tom of Finland has been an inspiration for gay men across the world. His drawings of leather men have become blueprints for the visual appearance of the gay community and are internationally recognised symbols of gay pride. Artists as diverse as Fassbinder, Freddie Mercury and Madonna have cited his work as a major influence. This documentary is a collage of the various elements that have come together in Tom' s art.
