Acclaimed director Wang returns to his native Hong Kong to tell the story of five star-crossed lovers just before the island’s take-over by China. There is John, a British journalist living in Hong Kong for the past 20 years, deeply and secretly in love with Vivian, a Chinese bar hostess turned night-club owner.
