During World War II Hitchcock made two short films with French actors and spoken in French. Their aim was pure propaganda. In Bon Voyage a Scottish RAF gunner manages to escape from a POW camp in Germany and return safely to England via France. In a painstaking reconstruction of his adventure, told in flash-backs, an officer from the security service makes it clear to him just how lucky he was.
