In a run-down bar in Buenos Aires, Freddy struggles to keep his head above water. He has left his native Bolivia in search of a job and a home, so that one day he can bring his family to Argentina for a better life. As a cook at the bar, he earns 15 pesos a day, five of which go to making a daily phone call home to La Paz. Meanwhile, he meets other outsiders in the same situation as himself: Rosa, a waitress from Paraguay, a gay street salesman from nearby Cordoba and a debt-ridden taxi driver. (Ron Holloway)
