Kate "Ma" Barker and her sons are brutal criminals who terrorize America in the 1920s and '30s. Ma goes on a Depression-era rampage of bank robbery, murder and kidnapping, presiding over her outlaw gang, consisting mainly of her goonish sons. Her criminal tendencies are only overshadowed by her sexual kinks. She sleeps with son Herman, as well as with his brother Fred’s bisexual lover. Lloyd is her drug-addicted third son, who sniffs glue, and Arthur is an epileptic. At Ma’s command they rob and murder, but when they kidnap a local politician, he turns into the father figure they never had, enabling them to finally stand up to her. (www.movies.yahoo.com)
