Ajanse Schischeï (The Glass Agency)

Abbas is a former soldier who is now engaged in farming. He travels to Tehran for a medical treatment of the wound in his neck. In the city he meets Haj Kazem, his wartime commander, who decides to company Abbas during his treatment. Medical tests reveal the presence of a small part of a shrapnel in his neck. An operation is urgent. The doctors advise Abbas to travel to a country where medical facilities are available for the hazardous operation. Moreover, Abbas should avoid all excitement, as this might cause the shrapnel to move. If he gets excited, he should try to laugh, even forcibly. The trip is organised in great haste. But the forthcoming New Year celebration causes a number of obstacles…
